Garrett Kuntz

A native of the Gallatin Valley, Garrett first picked up the guitar at age 10. From the moment he learned his first chord, he was hooked, and he has been chasing the sound, feel, and connection of live music ever since.
Over the years, Garrett has built a reputation as a versatile sideman and multi-instrumentalist, performing on guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, and pedal steel guitar. His musical interests span a wide range of styles, from country and bluegrass to metal and rock, giving him a broad and adaptable approach to every stage and session he is part of.
Garrett has performed throughout Montana and has had the opportunity to play with Jaden Decker, Matt Wallin and His Nervous Breakdown, Trout Basket, Cole and the Thornes, Amanda Stewart, Cole Decker, Tyler Potter, Jared Hansen and the Suns Ah 406, and countless others. Before joining www.twang in 2025, he made his living as a sideman, playing as many shows as possible and sharing his love of music through teaching music lessons.
Rooted in feel, tone, and a deep respect for the song, Garrett brings a steady, authentic presence to every performance, whether he is laying down rhythm, adding texture, or stepping forward for a lead.
These days, he can most likely be found on his small family farm, spending time with his wife and kids, or at Montana State University, where he studies electrical engineering with a focus on photonics and optics.
